HR Rule 19 of 31: Get Edgy


Get edgy through political activism.

In other words, pay attention to both Washington & your state capital. As a citizen, you too have a voice in what impacts you. You probably have some great ideas that you know will make a difference.

For example, one of the axes I have chosen to grind is COBRA elimination. The PPACA provides opportunities for the newly unemployed to maintain cost effective continuous health coverage. COBRA is now quaintly obsolete.

In case you haven’t heard }if so, perhaps lucky you} the midterm elections are upon us. Do you know who is running in your district? Where do they stand on the issues that you feel are critical?

Beyond the election & after legislation passes, comes the rules and regulation writing. You have a voice here at well. Check out this website, Lest we forget, even Presidential Executive Orders are also implemented through the rule making process.

Submit your comments on proposed regulations and related documents published by the U.S. Federal government. You can also use this site to search and review original regulatory documents as well as comments submitted by others.

Searching for the term ‘Labor’ yields 40,360 results. Staggering to say the least.

Here is one of current interest to Federal Contractors: Requirement to Report Summary Data on Employee Compensation. This rulemaking is in progress to implement EO 11246.

It is a lot to get used to, so don’t try to do it all at once. Daily dollops of explorations will ease your comfort level into competence.
