Try Something New

1. Try one new thing each day.

Living in your consistently in your comfort zone is the path to obsolescence through stagnation. Everyday then becomes a repetitive Groundhog Day. 

Remember the movie Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray?  He relived the same day again, again & again until he learned to get it right. Some of the things he had to were beyond his comfort zone. But with practice, then repetitions, the acts moved naturally into the zone. Only then did tomorrow come. 

We don’t have that option or opportunity to get it right before the future arrives. Instead the lessons of yesterday & today have to be learned & corrected by trying something new. Tomorrow will be waitng for us.  

So today, I processed my first ever bonus payroll. There was a lot of research, homework & vicarious rehearsal first. 

I sure hope that tomorrow is not Groundhog Day.
