Freedom of the Mind

Is all that is truly yours, not mine, not anyone else’s.  We always hear of our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Liberty is the one where freedom of the mind resides. First we must live, then we can think, and through thinking we can choose happiness.

Or not. Too often the voices in our heads tell us something else. Those voices may be tomorrow’s waifish saints or tainted with the regrets of yesterday.  But, every tomorrow need not be like every yesterday.

Seek freedom of the mind by listening neither to the waifish saints or stained regrets.  Practice mindful meditation creates self mastery.   Self mastery frees the mind.

I have been strengthening my freedom of the mind after reading 10% Happier by Dan Harris.  The best app for that is Insight Timer.

Free your mind.  I am.  Now, I am no longer taking longer walks on shortening docks.
